I installed this program, Tunebite, restarted the computer and when I logged in I went to a new desktop without any of my settings. A little message appeared saying that my profile was not loaded and to check the event log. Where is the event log??
Every time I restart or relog into the computer I am in a TEMP profile that resets with each login.
I tried to create a new account but I can't even do that. I'm stuck with my original account logging into this TEMP profile.
Any ideas on how to resolve this?
Thanks

Unable to login to my profile
Boot up into Safe Mode, Log on as Administrator and use System Restore.

Tried it but both restore points failed. Going to go back to XP. Anyone else experience this?
By the way, sorry for the multiple posts. I kept getting an error when posting so i thought it did not post.

Event log is in: Ctrl Panel > Admin Tools > Event Viewer
It is also in Ctrl Panel > Admin Tools > Computer Management
You should have logged errors in the Application log and in the System log. Both of these logs are located in the 'Windows Logs' section of Event Viewer. Your problem does not seem to be unique. Since I installed it, I have been unable to get Vista to load a domain roaming profile at all. Only my local account profiles work correctly. I have heard of others complaining of the same problem and have, unfortunately, seen no solution posted. If this is not a domain profile and was working correctly at some point, it might be a different problem that could be solved using information found in the events that are logged when you attempt to log in. In the Application event log, event 1521 with source User Profiles Service should be the event that is logged when Windows fails to load your profile. I really hope they get those issues fixed before RC1.

Ok I have found the problem and it dates back to Win XP. The OS has locked the account. It can be fixed by editing a key in the registry.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList. Under here you will find some long numbers these are known as the Users SID, if there are a lot of people logged onto the machine there will be a long list in here.(Hopefully not). Click on 1 of them and check the details in the right hand pane and it should give you a profilePath.
If you have blown away you profle, delete the key.
